In this Season

an Autumn Retreat for Women, in the Wilds of Tasmania
Binalong Bay area, Southern Bay of Fires
23- 26 March 2027

A few days to slow down, reconnect with yourself and notice the season of life you're living now.

Your Invitation

you arrive as you are. woman.
is this retreat right for you?

Perhaps you’re at a point in life where you’re becoming curious about what’s next.

Not necessarily because anything is wrong, but because life changes. Our priorities shift, our relationships evolve, our work changes, and the things that once felt important can begin to feel different.

Maybe you’re simply ready for a few days that are yours.

Time to slow down, breathe, move your body, spend time outdoors, eat good food, meet some wonderful women and enjoy being somewhere beautiful.

In This Season is for women who want space to pause and reconnect with themselves, without needing to have all the answers.

You don’t need to be looking for a major life change. You don’t need a particular goal for the retreat. And you certainly don’t need to know what season you’re in before you arrive.

Just bring yourself, a little curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

There will be time to explore, time to rest, time together and time on your own. There will be structure as well as flow.

A few days to step out of the everyday and see what becomes clearer when you give yourself some space.

For women who want to:

slow down without having to achieve anything

spend time in nature and reconnect with their body

create some space to reflect on what is changing

notice what is nourishing them and what may no longer fit

move, rest, breathe and receive

enjoy meaningful connection with other women, without having to perform or share more than feels comfortable

leave with a little more clarity about what they want to carry forward

You may also just want a break. To baske, bathe, eat, rest, move, sleep and walk.

You don't need to be experienced in yoga or meditation. And you don't need to know exactly what you need.

You simply need to be willing to pause, be curious and spend a few days in this season of your life.

Why Autumn

its a season to take notice

Autumn invites us to notice what is changing. What is ripening, what we've gathered from the season we've just lived, what has served its purpose, and what we're ready to let fall away.

Autumn is a natural time to pause and notice.

The landscape changes. The days shorten. Things ripen, fall away and return to the earth.

Nature doesn't resist the season it is in. It moves with it.

Our lives have seasons too.

Autumn gives us a different invitation.

To slow down.
To notice what has been gathered.
To recognise what has served its purpose.
To make space for what comes next.

This retreat is an opportunity to spend a few days doing just that - in nature, in your body and in the company of 10 other women.

The Retreat Experience

3 nights and 2 full days plus to some, nights to slow down, move, explore, create, rest and reconnect.

The retreat brings together yoga, nature, nourishing food, creative practice, sound, stillness and time to yourself. There is structure to the days, but also plenty of space to simply be.

Opening Circle

Arrive, settle into your own space and take a breath. We begin together with a welcoming circle, an introduction to the retreat and the season we are stepping into.  You will be invited to bring an item of elemental importance to place at our retreat altar.

Yoga & Meditation

Gentle, grounding practices each morning, with movement, breath, meditation and stillness woven through the retreat. It is a Hatha, Yin and Restorative vibe. I will supply a large bolster, yoga mat, 2 blocks and large blanket. If you need your own set up, bring that.

Your Space in the Bush

Stay in your own private king bell tent, surrounded by the Tasmanian bush. With exclusive use of the retreat, there is space to be together and space to retreat on your own.

Nature and the Seasons

Time outdoors exploring the landscape around us, with a sensory nature experience, including walks, a retreat vege garden, and reflection on the cycles of nature and our own live. Your journal becomes your ally here too.

Ocean and Sauna

Beach Meditation, a brisk ocean swim and time at the Bush sauna off site with hosts Ryan and Bec, located in St Helens.  An opportunity to move between water, warmth, rest and nature.

Creative Workshop

Make your own mala and create a personal essential-oil blend to take home. Simple, hands-on experiences with space to reflect.

Cacao, Sound & Stillness

An evening to slow right down with ceremonial PNG cacao, lovingly served in pottery vessels, sound, scent and deep rest.

Movement and Fire

A guided elemental movement journey through Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Ether, culminating in an evening fire ceremony and space to release what you no longer need to carry. Wear something to flow in, where you feel your aliveness.

Massage

Each woman will have a 45-minute massage during the retreat with Cole, with time to rest and receive.

Nourishment and Food

Wholesome vegetarian meals, prepared by our retreat chef, Jo, with good-quality ingredients and fresh seasonal produce. Simple, generous food to enjoy together, with healthy snacks and plenty of time around the table. There' s a small bar, but it's not a boozy event, so if you want a drinkie, you can purchase from the honesty bar.

Yoga Nidra

Our final morning begins with Yoga Nidra - a deeply restful practice and an opportunity to integrate before returning home.

Bay of Fires & Binalong Bay, Larapuna Country

The Bay of Fires is a beautiful stretch of Tasmania's northern east coast, known for its beaches, clear water, rocky coastline and surrounding bushland. Known as larapuna, this Country also has a deep Aboriginal history. Tasmanian Aboriginal people have lived along this coastline for thousands of years, with the area serving as a place for gathering, fishing, hunting and connection to Country. The fires observed along the coast by British navigator Tobias Furneaux in 1773 later gave the area its English name, the Bay of Fires.

Today, the landscape offers a place to slow down and properly step away from everyday life. There is ocean, bush, open space and very little need to be anywhere else. Our retreat home is in Binalong Bay, giving you easy access to the coastline while staying immersed in the quieter surrounds of the bush.

Meet Nic

I created In This Season as a space to pause, reconnect with yourself and notice the season of life you’re in.

Yoga teacher, facilitator and career coach, and the founder

My working life has always centred around people, change and the different seasons we move through. I spent more than 15 years working in HR and career development before creating a different kind of working life, one that brought together my experience supporting people through change with my love of yoga, nature and wellbeing.

I’ve been teaching yoga for more than a decade and have led retreats in Australia and overseas, including Bali, Panama and Tropical North Queensland. I’ve also travelled widely for my own retreats, immersions and study, including time in the UK, India and Costa Rica.

I created In This Season because I wanted to create the kind of space I value myself: somewhere to step away from daily routines, & to slow down. Having travelled to retreats myself, I know I also value comfort, an interesting schedule and nourishment.

Not to fix yourself or become someone different. Simply to pause, notice where you are, spend time in nature, and be curious about what this season of your life might be asking of you. To be held. To be curious about yourself, with kindness.

I’m looking forward to sharing these few days with you.

Getting There

Guests make their own way to the Retreat for flexibility, and to perhaps explore outbound

For interstate guests, Launceston or Hobart airports are the main arrival points, with car hire available from both.

From Launceston Airport: approximately 165 km, around 2 hours 15 minutes by car.

From Hobart Airport: approximately 265 km, around 3 hours 15 minutes by car.

I  recommend hiring a car for the most flexibility, as public transport options are very limited in this part of Tasmania. The drive is part of the experience, taking you through some beautiful Tasmanian countryside as you make your way north-east. I am also open to supporting you co-ordinate car pooling once you book if that suits.

Bay of Fires Bush Retreat is located at the southern entrance to the Bay of Fires, just 2 minutes from Binalong Bay and around 10 minutes from St Helens. Once you arrive, everything you need for the retreat is based at the property or nearby in St Helens, where there are fabulous cafes, shops and local IGA's.

Please note: you will need your own transport to and from the retreat.

First day arrival: Arrive 23 March, Tuesday at 3:00pm.

Departure: 10am, Friday following closing circle and breakfast.
